Meet Katrina Browning, the friendly voice you hear when you call Equine Wellness and Performance! As our primary Client Relations Associate she shows kindness, compassion, and care and every day to support our clients and veterinarians.
Q. How long have you been involved with horses
A. I’ve been around horses since the age of five. My best friend in kindergarten introduced me to the horse world when she brought me to her mom’s therapeutic riding center. After that, they could never get me to leave. I would come over every chance I could and they started to call me their adopted child after a while.
The moment I truly fell in love with horses though, was that same year. I went on my first trail ride in Maine, and after that there was no going back. I’ll always remember that chestnut named Chance who took me trail riding through the gorgeous Maine trails.
Q. Do you still ride?
A. I do still ride! I had taken some time and not ridden for a few years due to having kids and keeping up with them at home, but I’ve started riding again and I’ve truly realized how much I missed it. I mostly ride English, but I do know how to tack up a western saddle as well.
Q. What’s your favorite part about your role as a Client Relations Associate at Equine Wellness and Performance
A. My favorite part is meeting everyone in the equine community here. Whether it’s the clients or the patients, I love getting to know everyone. Most of all, I just love helping any way I can. Even if it’s just answering questions of basic care, to even just being a positive moment in someone’s day over the phone. If I’ve made a positive impact on you today, then I’ve done my job right.
On a side note, I love putting a face to the voice I hear over the phone! Don’t ever hesitate to schedule an in-clinic appointment. I love meeting all our clients in person, and I especially love to meet your horses!
Q. What's the hardest part about your job
A. Scheduling a euthanasia. It’s never easy, but I try to make it as easy as possible because I know it’s even harder for the owner I’m speaking to over the phone.
Q. What’s one thing you couldn’t live without in the office?
A. I have two things I couldn’t live without! I think everyone in the office could answer the first one for me, which is Coffee! They know my day doesn’t start until I’ve had one.
The other thing I could not live without is some of our four legged guests, having horses stay in the clinic reminds me of why I love this job.
